HONEY, I'm home ...........

Hello again. It seems like ages that I last posted but as I had two weekends off the bike due to a visit back to London and Toronto Gay Christmas (Pride) it seems like an eternity since I last rode: it certainly felt like it on Saturday's ride - a tough 105 km.

So time to take stock on where we are so far......

Fitness wise we are ready. Rob has done 100km back-to-back this weekend, Chris starting to get up the KM despite not being able to train at the weekends and Duracell Malinsky with that duck like gait can go for hours. I did 120km before my break and 105km this weekend.

It feels like our group has come so far over the last couple of months which is just reward for the bike rally becoming the all consuming activity of our lives. There is more than one Bike Rally Widow in Toronto at the moment.

With an exceptional donation of $15,000 to one of our team members we have smashed the team record for donations with a staggering $148,698 . We think we will get $156,000 but are aiming for $160,000 so donations still gratefully received.

But as we know the Bike Rally isn't about riding a bike so our team got together to get our costumes finished and our dance routines practiced. Sewing machines, plastic bags, skirts, flags and Dalmatian ears appeared and a sweat shop evolved. All we needed was some Chinese children and a Nike logo.

Mark takes all this very seriously but half way through the choreography instructions  we lost the plot and starting mumbling something about it being all right on the night.

Almost wet myself laughing at the Flag Dancers practice. It was so funny. Mark showed a perfect demo with figure 8's above his head and when we tried Harvey smacked himself in the testicles with the weighted edge and looked like he was missing a bull most of the time.

Chris's one legged flagging was a sight to behold.

I have often said our team is a bit of an Outreach Program and boy did we look like it on Sunday.

And of course we started to make the shirts of the people we want to remember at the candle lit vigil.

I am very pleased that some of my team will also be wearing an image of Clint on their vests as well as other team members remembering their friends.

I am so pleased that I am doing this rally for so many reasons.

13 days and counting.
